Marching Instructor - Misael Gutierrez
Misael Gutierrez is a graduate of Edison High School and a proud alum of the Golden Brigade.  This season will mark his third year as staff.  Currently, Misael studies at Fresno State and is pursuing a B.A. in Music Education.  He performs with the Fresno State Wind Orchestra as well as the Fresno State Jazz Ensemble, as a tubist and trombonist, respectively.  He was also a part of the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band for 2 years, and served as section leader for the tuba section during his last year.  Misael has been a tuba player for 12 years now, and is currently a part of the Fresno State tuba studio where he receives private lessons from retired Manchester G.A.T.E band director and well-known tubist Ed Hull.  At age 14, Misael began his career as a performing artist, performing on tuba with various local Regional Mexican genre bands including Banda, Norteño, and Sierreño styles. He now performs every weekend across the entire state of California as a tubist for various bands. He maintains a busy schedule and is in high demand as a performing tuba player within the Regional Mexican music genre.  During his free time, Misael directs, manages and promotes his own "Banda Sinaloense" located in Dinuba, Ca, composed of mostly high school and college musicians from the surrounding cities. As a hobby, he enjoys learning new instruments as well as composing and arranging music for small ensemble and banda. Misael currently serves as the Brass Instructor for the Bullard Talent K-8 school of the arts band program.  This year, Misael plans to join the staff at Edison's feeder, Gaston Middle School.
